Second Steps

I've retracted my steps to Beijing, returning for a second summer and a second opportunity to study Chinese language in China's capital. Second chances are never really about remapping the past, however, and so rather than retrace old memories, this thread is going to bring you along on two months of daily runs in the streets of Beijing...and much else besides.

Expect breathless Olympic buildup, irreverent analysis of the odd laobaixing (老百姓) and concise rambling on anything and everything from the day Phidippides first took off from the beaches of Marathon till some future day when I follow in his footsteps.
